Phil Zimmerman, former Everence General Counsel
The Legal Department is proud to share that Phil Zimmerman, former Everence General Counsel, was bestowed the title of Fraternal Counselor Emeritus by the Association of Fraternal Benefit Counsel (AFBC) on June 23, 2023, at its annual meeting in Charlotte, N.C.
The resolution adopted by the AFBC noted, “Mr. Zimmerman has served the fraternal benefit system with great distinction through many roles including serving as President of the Association of Fraternal Benefit Counsel in 2003-2004.”
In bestowing the title to Phil, the AFBC expressed its “sincere appreciation” to Phil “for his extraordinary work and effort, and for his many contributions on behalf of the Association of Fraternal Benefit Counsel, the American Fraternal Alliance, and the fraternal benefit system as a whole.”
This is just a small example of the impact Phil had in his role as General Counsel with Everence and reflects his dedication to Everence and the value of mutual aid more broadly.
